Notes: | NB122 P32: [LL 40] Work in the tiled pipe area extended south. 1.90 m below the surface, and .90 m below the point where the black surface earth changes to red, the broken end of a pipe, apparently the one already seen at [PP 41] appears. It is made of terracotta heavily coated with cement. Work on cutting away the dike between this area and the one just south: [PP 41] The terracotta deposit (= Deposit 1931-1) noted yesterday continues N & S for a short distance along the line of the pipe. Numerous sherds collected, and fragments of limbs, including one very large foot. | |
