By noon two places had been found where there seemed to be fair sized slabs some distance underground. We began to dig at these two points. T is ca. 35.00 m W of P near the N edge of bluff. It soon became clear that there can be no Greek grave here. There is a good deal of Mycenaean pottery. At 0.70 deep I notice a couple of sherds of Mattmalerei and one or two of Minyan.

At 4:00 PM I called the men off T and W.
In T there seems to be regular stratification and there is no sign that the earth has been disturbed for a Greek grave. At 0.75-0.80 is top of a wall or rather two almost parallel walls running E and W. After 0.75 there is scarcely any Mycenaean pottery. Several matt
