Notes:   North of the threshold stone in the face of the bluff we are going down to lower levels. Here is a floor level (0.70 below top of threshold) bounded by two narrow walls. Down to this level (for about 0.40) we find chiefly Minyan.
[James-Nakassis: the top of the threshold block is at most 0.40 m below ground level, as the block was exposed in the first basket of trench R, which stopped at 0.40 m (see NB 81, B45). The floor level would then be at most 1.10 m below ground level. The starting elevation of the next basket of 1.05 m below ground level, where CWB announces that he is digging deeper to the east. These numbers are close enough to suggest plausibly that the top of the threshold block is ca. 0.35 m below ground level, and and these three baskets take this area down ca. 0.65 m, from 0.40 m to ca. 1.05 m below ground level. This basket is below B63.]

Deep bowl with two handles this bowl ca. 1/2 preserved is covered inside and out with a red black paint. Method of painting reminds of Urfirnis wash. [Nakassis: CP 317]
Hieratic vessel ca. 25 sherds of same sort
Coarseware 50 or more sherds (many also thrown away) incl. 1/2 dozen polished black and red.
