Notes: | P XVI (begun yesterday and one basket carried to museum) 3.40-3.60 3.70. Stereo is reached at 3.60-3.70. Higher in north end of trench. Not a great many sherds. One Urfirnis dish almost complete. The so-called stereo at 3.60-3.70 in P turned out to be a rough stone pavement. Loose earth continues below it. We are going down further. [p. 365] P XVI 3.40-3.60 (Few sherds) Urfirnis 8 or 10 black and a few red thin wash. Some have a thicker coat. Several coarse nondescript. A dozen or more plain buff. A bowl practically complete.
