Notes: | After breakfast we began a new trench to go deep for stratification. This I call "S". It lies ca. mid way between L and P and runs east and west. S is ca. 1.50 wide and 6.00 long. [p. 235] S I 0.00-0.30. Chiefly LM III. We have struck the top of a wall ca. 0.25 below ground. [This pottery is probably from both NB 81 B 78, NB 81 B 83 and NB 81 B 89] [p. 368] S I 0.00-0.30 (A good deal weeded out) Mycenaean LM III characteristic ca. 60 sherds painted (3 are rather better quality and look like earlier Mycenaean). Unpainted ca. 30 sherds. Coarse nondescript 10 sherds Minyan 4 sherds Urfirnis decorated type 1 sherd (?) | |
