Notes: | S II 0.30-0.65. The wall is ca. 1.10 wide and runs N-S. After this level will shall dig down only west of this thick wall. The wall has a good face on east side but not on west. Here the stones are more casual perhaps fallen from the real wall. This might account for apparent thickness. In S II are chiefly Mycenaean sherds. One good piece showing pomegranate blossoms. A painted Mycenaean quadruped in 2 pieces - with 3 legs broken off. [This pottery is probably from NB 81 B 79, NB 81 B 83 and NB 81 B 90] [p. 368] S II 0.30-0.65 Mycenaean LM III painted about 70 sherds or more. Decoration is conventional late style. About 20 sherds are painted solid with red or brown-black varnish (much like Hieratic vessel) reminds of Urfirnis method. Unpainted Mycenaean ca. 20 sherds. Coarseware ca. 16 sherds Minyan 6 sherds Mattmalerei 3 sherds dull black on buff (2) on yellow green (1) fairly coarse Obsidian 1 chunk Terracottas -- forepart of 1 quadruped and rear portion of another (2) | |
