| Notes: | We went down another level in East Aisle. Many fine pieces of the best period of Mycenaean ware were brot up. Many of the pieces we dug out by hand knives to insure their safety. This is level VI 100-120. [James-Nakassis: It appears that Blegen and Scott have stopped excavating the northern section of the East Alley. See comments under East Alley, N section II (NB 83 B 86)] [NB 84, p. 58, written by CWB] VI 1.00-1.20 Excellent sherds in great quantities. We have fragments of octopod pot palm leaf pot lily pot 2 seaweed pots, several good cups etc. Many fine LM I pieces. Tzonou-herbst=Blegen 1921, p. 46, fig. 62, p. 47, fig. 63. [NB 85, p. 44, CWB, almost certainly from all sections of level VI]: E.A. VI 1.00-1.20 (=LM I II ? - II?) Mycenaean painted LM III 1 sherds noticed LM II-I ca. 400 sherds Ephyraean ware ca. 50 “ (4 or 5 fine sherds) Black monochrome 148 sherds Red “ 234 “ Unpainted buff ca. 375 sherds (more papsed) ranging from rather coarse unpolished to fine unpainted Ephyraean ware Minyan 14 sherds Mattmalerei 106 “ moastly coarse, black or red on yellow green but 1 fine sherd of polychrome m.m. like that of 6th shaft grave, a spout.
