Lot:   Lot 2006-005
Stratum:   fill below destrucion deposit S of wall 291, E of wall 294, and N of the E-W wall N of wall 215; reddish-brown, compact, silty sandy, poorly sorted soil with 50-60% inclusions of medium to coarse pebbles and some cobbles
Notes:   Red mudbrick chunks and scattered bits of charcoal are present throughout. We are dry sieving all soil with 1 out of 5 zembils being water-sieved.. There is some tile present; 14 fragments with a weight of 11.1 kg. A large Corinthian pan tile, discovered while excavating Basket 70, was removed in this basket. Traces of the pebbly soil, initially discovered in Basket 70, continue to be present here throughout; it is hard to believe that this is a floor surface because the matrix is so loose (vs. compact). We stopped this basket due to a soil change; a softer patch of soil was discovered in the E part of this basket.
