Stratum:   General fill of light brown sandy silt
Notes:   Before beginning B18, a stone was found around 414 E and 973, 75 N. Underneath was brown silt, fine and loosely packed. There was no pottery or other finds in the hole (33 cm/23 cm). It is probably a late/modern intrusion to the depth of 91,84 m.
Soil of B18 is brown sandy silt with 2-5% pebbles of all sizes, identical to B14 and B17. A chunk or two of light peach tile material were found and also a few chunks of light green tile in the fill. The fill to the south yielded white plaster fragments with red and black paint as well as a flat marble piece, broken by the pick. In the northeast corner, also, a concentration of painted plaster fragments surfaced north west of several stone blocks (walls 291 and 290). In the center of the trench, less than 20 cm east of pit 2006-02, a section of blackish brown compact earth surfaced, perhaps a garden area. Thus, we decided to finish cleaning the area of B18, dig the blacker pits separately, and then dig the area around the blocks to the north east as a new basket.
