Stratum:   Robbing Trench south of wall 290 - medium brown sandy silt with 2% pebbles
Notes:   We started digging south of wall 290 in order to establish whether it might be a robbing trench for the same wall. Change of soil necessitated opening an extention to E with the possibility of being a joining point with wall 287 and wall 290. See plan for elevation and features.
Concentration of wall plaster and occasional tile fragments continued as we dug down.
B40 was stopped after reaching what appears to be the bottom of the robbing trench.
It seems that wall 290 joins with wall 215 at the SE corner of the trench. Further excavation is necessary to confirm this.
