Lot:   Lot 2006-006
Stratum:   Fill S of squarish feature - medium brown sandy silt, compact, with 5-10% pebbles and small cobbles
Notes:   This basket continues the fill surrounding the squarish feature in corner of walls 291 and 290. A stamped loomweight surfaced near 971N and 412.50E. Also and ivory? Piece ca. 3 cm long. We began to sieve the soil around where it was found to see if there were more or if the greenish cast indicated an associated coin. Only a few frgt of glass surfaced.
The soil becomes more pebbley but otherwise doesn't change, so basket continues.
North of E-W blocks a disintegrated fragment of an ashlar block was removed. It was not in place (413,95E, 971,25N) but looked like the same material as Wall 287.
The amount of cobbles increases N of the blocks (70%)
We are stopping the basket since we reached sand in the N are of B54.
No floor levelwas reached, though. It may have been disturbed during robbing activity for stone material from wall 290.
