Stratum:   Brown Soil Deposit- Possible Fill
Notes:   Reddish/yellowish brown sandy silt, weakly cemented with 15% rounded and sub-rounded pebbles: Basket 20 is a pass to the N of the area of harder compact soil with pebbles described in B19 (p.50) starting in the E and moving W toward to the gutter. The purpose of this pass is to determine the limits of the darker softer soil (B20) and the contiguous harder pebbly area, as well as their relationship to each other. Toward the S, B20 ended with a firm boundary of pebbles and cobbles, but toward the N the boundary was harder to define. It seems as though the soil deposit, possible fill (B20) which contains flecks of carbon and clods of reddish clay, may continue to the N under a crust of harder greyish soil (end of B14-5).
