Corinth Basket: NB978 B27 P65
Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Basket
Name:   NB978 B27 P65
Area:   Panaghia north
Category:   Basket/zembil
Notebook:   978
Context:   27
Page:   65
Date:   2006/05/04
Stratum:   Possible fill- Oblong pit
Notes:   Greyish brown clayey silt with 5-10% pebbles. B27 is the removal of a layer that posibly sits on top of the bottom layer of 26. The area is to the E of the column. This layer is removed to attempt to unify the grid area that lies to the E of the stone formation (drain?) E of the diamond tile pool. A piece of hydraulic concrete was found. The removal of B27 should allow us to delineate the boundaries of the stratum, which seems to span the entire area around the column S to B20. B27 continues to have inclusions of roof tiles and painted wall plaster. As the soil of B27 was removed the continuous layer of reddish soil was shown to slope down to the E such that B27 overlayed the reddish layer. The basket ended on a layer of reddish soil with pebbles that seems to extend into the scarp to the E and the N.
