Corinth Basket: NB979 B21 P36
Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Basket
Name:   NB979 B21 P36
Area:   Panaghia west
Category:   Basket/zembil
Notebook:   979
Context:   21
Page:   36
Date:   2006/05/05
Stratum:   Redeposited fill south of Wall 215. The stratum is medium reddish brown sandy silt with 10% pebbles, 5% cobbles and 15% plaster, compactish.
Notes:   B 21 is the removal of the area south of Wall 215 and west of Pit 2005-01. I feel that this basket is the same as B 56 from NB 971, which was interpreted as a destruction fill from somewhere else and redeposited here to level out the area. In the same NB, B 56 is later interpreted as the same fill as NB 971 B 61, which preceded our B 20 and B 21. Therefore, B 21 is the continuation of B 61 NB 971. B 21 is chock full of painted plaster, as well as having patches of burnt mudbrick. We stopped removing B 21 when the soil became redder and plaster was no longer cropping up. There is a large piece of mudbrick almost against Wall 215. Found bronze, bone and a lot of plaster. See pg. 34 for top plan.
