Notes:   B42 is a general pass across the W portion of the trench (excluding B41). The earth here is fairly gravelly. At the end of B42, a rubble wall was discovered aligned with one from NB 978 running N-S at the W end of the trench. The highest preserved portion of the wall is located at the middle of the W end of the trench. To the S of this higher stretch the tops of stones that clearly belong to the wall have appeared in places, though some earth still remains here. To the N of the higher stretch, no more of the wall is visible at the bottom of the pass; the wall presumably continues N at a lower elevation. The highest preserved stone of the wall is at 91.28. Also at the bottom of B42, portions of 2 architectural blocks appeared in the SW corner of the trench (and running into the S and W scarps). These blocks have a N-S orientation, and are not in precise alignment, though they do abutt each other. These blocks also appear to abutt the N-S wall at its W face. The earth immediately around the partially exposed S portion of the trench is softer than that to the E of the wall, but it is not clear if this is post-robbing fill or simply due to natural causes (robbing now seems to be the culprit).
