Name:   NB980 B94 P189
Area:   Panaghia north
Category:   Basket/zembil
Notebook:   980
Context:   94
Page:   189
Date:   2006/06/25
Stratum:   light brownish brown, very soft, 10% fine-coarse pebbles, 40% cobbles, well sorted fine sand
Notes:   B94 digs the soft rocky earth of the W scarp of the tile feature's pit. Digging W nearly to Wall 296, the earth remains extremely soft, much more so than that of the trench's W side just dug in B93. The soft earth and high cobble concentration both stop at harder, less rocky earth, forming what appears to be the true cut of the pit into which the cobbly earth was dumped. The earth into which the pit was cut, based on what digging of this W edge has exposed in B94, is more reddish toward the bottom of the cut and more brownish toward the top. A bit more of the soft cobbly pit fill remains at the N edge on this last day of the 2006 season.
