Stratum:   Pit
Notes:   The matrix of this basket is light reddish brown sandy silt, loose, with 5-10% pebble inclusions. B8 is the continuation of the fill in the pit. A difference in the matrix was noted from B7, where the soil of B8 contains more pebble inclusions. It is possible that all these previous strata indicate different phases of the use of this pit. After one pass a much harder layer is reached. The quantities of pottery and other material culture have heavily diminished. It is therefore believed that this is the bottom of the pit. 80% of the soil is dry sieved and 20% is reserved for water sieving.
