Stratum:   Clay surface north of castellum drain, south of W 215. Soil is clay white clay with 20% pebbles, 20% cobbles, compact.
Notes:   B 24 is the removal of the clay surface we have alternately been referring to as a patch and a floor.
We have found what is most likely a coin in this layer.
The bottom of this basket does however reveal a fairly nice floor …to level surface with some clay mixed in. The floor runs to the east and then is cut by a c. 2 foot wide trench running between the floor and the red pebbly layer (?grave? B 22). This trench may have beeen a robbed out wall which bordered the floor, and we have James Herbst draw it before excavating the edge away. Found coin, bronze. See top plan pg. 45.
