Context:   139
Date:   2016/06/15
Stratum:   20% tile; 20% stone: 10% coarse pebbles, 10% medium pebbles
Description:   The soil color is dark reddish black. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   -139 is harder, with more inclusions and less silty soil than 132 and 135; 139 is adjacent to 132, 135, and 130; 139 is overlaid by/earlier than 119 and 124.
-Excavation commenced from N. scarp of context 139 (where it is adjacent to contexts 130 and 132) in attempt to trace later floor surface uncovered in context 130.
-Excavation moved southwards through entire trench save for N. section and strip along E. edge where possible floor had already been exposed.
-Harder reddish surface exposed throughout most of trench; this seems to be possible floor level in the SW section of the trench, but does not seem to be floor level in the NW section of the context (although it is harder and reddish in this area below 139, more so in context 139).
-In middle of context was found a possible bothros, circular in shape and with a seemingly softer consistency and darker color. This will be exavated as different context.
-Some fallen tiles revealed in patch in SW corner of context.
-Reddish soil that does not seem to be floor level will also be excavated as separate context.
-More whitish area , with more inclusions, also revealed in SE corner of context; this will also be excavated as separate context.
