Title:   Room 10 - Debris Deposit
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1111
Context:   152
Date:   2016/06/17
Stratum:   Less than 5% pottery; 5% tile fragments (concentrated in the west); 15% small to medium sized rocks (concentrated in the east); patches of reddish soil
Description:   Top slope of the context is uneven. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   We changed contexts and opened 152 because the soil had changed to a very slightly harder and more clayey soil at the same level of numerous medium sized rocks in the east (tumble from Wall 86?) and tiles in the west (Rocks = ~0.26 x 0.12; Tiles = e.g. 0.23 x 0.20 x 0.03, 0.21 x 0.18 x 0.03) with some especially large tile fragments in the SW corner of the room, two of which we collected (0.34 x 0.36 x 0.03; 0.34 x 0.25 x 0.03). The patches of reddish soil continued in this context, particularly in the east and south-central areas of the room. Very little pottery was collected from this context and no small finds.
We closed this context at end of the day since it is the final day of our (Tom and Erika) excavation season, but the deposit has not been fully excavated. The bottom elevation that we reached in 58.00 (E -306.84, N 1495.94).
