Description:   The soil color is dark reddish black. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is well sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   -Excavation of baulk along W. half of room
-More compact and harder layer below context 7; more reddish soil
-Exposed level below is more reddish and more compact than context 15; this is likely a floor level
-Coin found in center of context, likely upon floor level (2016-154)
-Pass taken to N. edge of Wall 6
-Soil composition generally finer, more well-sorted than previous contexts 7 and 3
-As pass reached SE corner of context, a greater number of tiles were recovered than previously encountered in pass; this may be because we are approaching wall
-Earth in SE quadrant of context is softer and darker in color; this may be fill for cut foundation trench since it is near wall
