Notes: | Finds collected: plaster -161 has many more tile and larger stone inclusions than 158. -Excavation of tile fall/debris in SE corner of Room 12; mostly tile with some stones. -Worked marble piece recoveered from context: .17m x .15m (possibly wall block) -Size of tiles: .21 x.17m, .20 x.15m, .20 x 18m, .14 x .14 m.; Approximately same size and type of tiles, broken into thirds and halves. -Aim is to excavate debris pile down to floor level (revealed in rest of Room 12) -Chunks of plaster (W face) recovered from context, near wall 153; this is likely from the wall. These were collected. -Excavation of context 161 revealed possible floor surface (much more compact and consolidated level, with few inclusions) as well as possible foundation trench along wall 153 in SE corner of Room 12. -Three large stones removed S of SE debris pile, along wall 142; these are likely wall stones fallen from the wall. Measurements: .36 x .23m, .32 x .36m, .29 x .18m. -Small amount of plaster preserved on wall face of wall 153; this is visible right above floor level. Finds: Plaster | |
