Description:   The soil color is dark yellowish black. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is well sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   -This deposit wa revealed at the end of our last day of excavation so we could not excavate it.
-Fill inside oval built structure embedded in floor surface in NE corner of Room 12. After a couple of buckets clay layer and ash were encountered. Mixed soil: greyish and silty towards east side-more ashy. Built feature lined with courses of tiles and plaster, generally oval in shape, but skinnier on E. end; widest in middle. Soil becomes softer as we go lower. 3 big fragments of tiles covering bottom, 25cm from the top in eastern section (nothing found underneath). Tile measurments: 31 x 15cm, 22.5 x 12.5 cm, 32 x 19 cm.
-162 inside built feature, separate from rest of floor surface uncovered under 158.
Context Pottery:   Fineware. glaze painted III, slipped (1160-1200), bowl. 2 bodysherds. ; Fineware. plain glazed, unslipped (800-1100), pitcher. 1 bodysherd.
Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
