| Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the E. The soil color is dark brownish grey. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt. | |
| Notes: | This ashy irregularly shaped context was similar to the overlying 205, with animal bones and abundant pottery. The context maybe associated with wall 198 directly to its south. 207 was overlain by 205, but the similarities in soil may indicate that they are equal. Pottery pulled from the context varied from small diagnostic sherds to large body sherds. It was revealed that 207 is part of a large homogonous fill that extends about 3/4 of a meter downward into trench #4's scarp. It was suggested that this may be part of a large pit that extends to the east. This pit would then be cut by wall 198. We found a glass goblet in this context very similar to the one found in context 205. It is possible these two contexts are related. | |
