Title:   Wall Collapse atop White surface in NW c-yard
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1111
Context:   227
Date:   2016/07/22
Stratum:   10% small pebbles, 40% cobbles
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy clay.
Notes:   This is a mixed, confusing layer of wall melt and collapse that sits atop the last formal-use surface in the courtyard. The boundaries are very indistinct but the context seems to curve at the northern section and follow or hold back the cobbled level context currently called Structure 202. The soil appears to be a mixture of mud mortar, wall fall and possible post-abandonment depostional fill in a witches' brew. Within the collapse by the silo against the eastern extent of the context is a small concentration of coarseware pottery sherds and handle. For now we will keep it separately to see if it is reconstructable.
This appears to be where a portion of the wall or feature that blocks in the silo shifted and/or fell outward --> east. This is apparent based upon the angle of the rocks, mud-melt in collapse which is sloped downward from west to east.
227 is related to 246 (Cobble Feature Thing) as the pottery from the same vessel are found with each other. (this note added after pottery reading).
