Title:   Section of yellow floor south of pit 275 in NW CY
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1111
Context:   284
Date:   2016/07/27
Stratum:   10% cobbles. 10% pebbles (angular)
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light reddish yellow. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy clay.
Notes:   This surface is the "yellow"courtyard surface associated with structure 271 to the North.
This bit of excavation is a bit of a cuckhold. We didn't see that pit 275 was bigger and extended further to the SE when we initially excavated it.
We also didn't see its NE/SW orientation in the section cut (and in the scarp of Trench 3) so we anticipated it having smaller dimensions. It is bigger and ovoid and the next contexts will be remedial digging to excavate its contents.
North pit South pit
271 = Not dug
274 pit surface = 284
276 Level I = 285
278 Level II = 286
281 Level III = 287
Surface of pit is weird, hard-packed capped surface visible with the cut into surface 271 delineated in the section.
