Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is light reddish yellow. The soil compaction is strongly cemented. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This is a thin lens of sandy material below 306 surface and atop (presumably 309). Another lens (308) -- is immediately under it along the west. The lens is cut along the east by Trench 3 and on the south by pit 275.
Not screened and very few artifacts visible.
Glass and pottery.
Context Pottery:   Fineware. slipped plain glazed (1100-1300), pitcher. 1 handle. ; Fineware. measles, slipped slip painted sgraffito (1140-1160), bowl. 1 bodysherd.
Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
Chronology:   3rd quarter of the 12th c.
