Description: | The soil color is light yellowish black. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silt. | |
Notes: | - New context opened in Room 5 after Room 3 closed. This room is located to the N. of Room 2, although it is not adjacent, but separated by another room. - Cleaning pass dig through entire room; surface had been exposed sinse last excavated a year ago, and so is very dry and hard. - In SE corner revealed under excavated earth was round patch of blacker earth approximately .75 m wide. This is surrounded by more reddish earth, which is possibly floor surface, although still uncertain. This round patch of blacker earth is a possible hearth. Behind round patch was left patch of mixed earth and tile, left from previous excvation in area, when was revealed. - 46 is lighter and less compact than 55 and 48. - Excavation of earth revealed area of rocks and tiles in layer below, in corner of room; this may be the top of a destruction level.
