Stratum:   Inclusions 20%: very few thin roots, pottery, stones (small cobbles, coarse pebbles, medium pebbles).
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the NW. Bottom slope of the context is slight down to the NWThe soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   A hard white layer of clay floor at a higher elevation than the rest of the clay surface first revealed under the tile scatter B51, north and northeast of the walls of the orange clay feature/oven. B100 also includes the clay directly to the west of the north wall of of the orange clay feature.
Seven shovelfuls were sent to the wet sieve; four shovelfuls were sent to the dry sieve.
Underneath B100, north of the wall, we revealed a black soil deposit and a bit of the clay that would be excavated as B102, and to the NE of the wall we revealed the same clay surface first revealed under the black ash deposit B97.
It is possible that B100 may be equivalent to B94 and/or B99, since both of these contexts are also patches of clay at higher elevations resting on the flooring excavated as B102=B105=B106=B108. But this is probably not the case because of other factors such as soil description.
[Later note: B100 has been made equal to B102 et al. because it is quite similar in the characteristics of composition, and the elevations are not too different from B102 as to be inconsistent; also, the relative location of the baskets makes such a relationship reasonable].
