Description: | Top slope of the context is level down to the SW. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes: | This context is a continuation of removal of the baulk south of cut 871. We are hoping to understand activities outside of the Turkish house to the north, and how to relate this deposit to the contexts to the north of pit 871 (1004, 1005, 1010, 1011, 1012, and 1013). This context is very shallow and yielded only a small amount of pottery and tile. The soil underneath is more red, so we stopped digging at the change of soil color. The context is very small, but perhaps it was a levelling fill.
