The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt. | Notes: | | 1116 is the artificial baulk that was left intact during the exacation of 1115. We left this narrow strip in place to avoid contamination in 1115. As a result, we can say that the two contexts are may be equivalent and both may be part of the fill of cut 1117. It was more or less homogenous in conposition and inclusions with 1115. This baulk marks the northern boundary of the preserved cut. However, it must be noted that the actual north edge is not preserved -. it was removed in much earlier excavation (Robinson). | Context Pottery: | | Fineware. esb, bowl. 1 rim. ; Fineware. arratine, cup. 2 bodysherds. ; Fineware. preroman25 bodysherds. | Pottery Summary: | | 27 frag(s) 0.06 kg.
