Description:   Top slope of the context is steep down to the W. The soil color is dark brownish red. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey sand.
Notes:   We opened context 1146 when Thanasis came down upon more reddish soil with a densely packed layer of tiles (5-10 cm), lying flat. As Thanasis (pickman) was called away to another trench, supervisor Jonathan Meyer dug carefully through a shallow layer of tiles interspersed with small stones and potsherds. Excavation revealed a small nail, two pieces of painted plaster, and fragments of glass.
We closed context 1146 upon Thanasis' return, when he came down upon a layer of whitish, clayey soil.
