Stratum:   20% potsherds, stones (small, 2-4 cm), metal, glass
Description:   Top slope of the context is moderate down to the E. The soil color is dark greyish red. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   The removal of context S912 exposed the continuation of the reddish floor (S911) and this context. We judged that this was a separate context from S911 due to the presence of large (5-15 cm) cobbles in the east- and southwest-facing scarp of S911, while such cobbles were absent from the scarp underlying this context. However, excavation revealed stones of a similar size in the fill on the southern side of S911.
The first buckets contained fill that was relatively homogeneous, consisting of a greyish-red soil with small (2-4 cm) pebbles and ceramic fragments, plus a few pieces of metal and glass. Further down, on the southern side of the deposit near wall S366, an inclusion of larger stones (5-15 cm) was unearthed.
We closed the context when we came down upon a layer of hard-packed soil, redder to the west and lighter to the east, with flat-lying ceramic fragments visible on the surface.
