Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the SE. Bottom slope of the context is slight down to the SEThe soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   It has been several days since B82 was dug, the top fill of what we believed may be a robbing trench. We left it to pursue other objectives in the excavation area, but now that things are moving more slowly in other areas, we are free to dig this trench again.
Bill swept the loose soil that had accumulated, and then began to dig.
As we dug, however, we discovered that the cut seemed to disappear, in that the soil of B117 was going into what we thought was the cut. This was helpful in that it showed us that this is in fact probably not a robbing trench (as we had hoped/expected). It also revealed a squared stone, and a row of blocks which appear to be a wall. However, it also means that the bottom ca. 10 cm. of this basket were dug unstratigraphically. When we were sure that the cut was in fact gone, we cleared what had been dug and closed the basket.
Proper interpretation of the above mentioned features will have to wait until we have dug down to the rest of this level stratigraphically.
