| Description: | Top slope of the context is moderate down to the N. Bottom slope of the context is moderate down to the NThe soil color is mixed. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is sandy silt. | |
| Notes: | We are doing a cleaning basket (B 149) to establish the relationship of basket 149 and the soil of the area extending further N and NE, which is looser and more reddish. The next day (22-5-07) a larger area of firm darker soil than was originally expected was removed. Its northern limits coincided with the beginning of the large pit B 76. In the southern part of the excavated area we discovered a small deposit of darker and softer soil than that of B 149. We decided to excavate this deposit in a different basket. We also decided that we will remove in a separate basket the small pit that was excavated earlier in B 140. We believe that the pit was only partially excavated of B140, because B140 did not remove fully the dark color soil of the pit and the stones that frame the pit in its western end. Basket 149 included pottery , few bones, pebbles and roots. | |
