Stratum:   Tile, pottery sherds, boulders, cobbles and pebbles of mixed shapes and sizes throughout the mixed fills, ranging from 30% to 70% inclusions. Soil and inclusion percentage mixed throughout the extent of the context.
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the N. The soil color is mixed. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is moderately sorted. It is mixed- see description.
Notes:   We open context 264 believing it to be a continuation of the plow zone that above in 240 and 257 in the NE area of the context, and thinking this plow zone continues to the south and west throughout the context. We hope to reveal more structures or cuts beneath this plow zone.
The soil and inclusions are mixed throughout; no distinct soil or percentage of inclusions appears in a particular area of the context. However, because the inclusions in 264 are better sorted than those of 240 and 257, we now believe this context is not plow zone, but erosional deposition. That is, we have less tile and many fewere boulder and cobbles than we had above, and this pattern is more consistent with natural disposition than with the kind of soil disturbance that typically results from continous plowing.
