Stratum:   50% + sub-angular cobbles, tile, ceramic, pebbles, large boulders
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   The light yellowish brown sandy silt is soft and has many inclusions of cobbles and boulders, tile and ceramic. There are several very large stones of ca. 25 x 25 cm.
This pit is in the corner where two walls meet. It extends into the eastern scarp. The walls were just beyond the limit of last year's excavations and this were not exposed until this season.
The large stones were similar to those from pit fill 286, possibly from a construction dump?
We come down upon a shelf, but the pit seems to continue in the middle section.
A ywllow soil emerges in the northern portion.
It appears as though there was an earlier pit and fill, the yellowis soil, which was overlayed by this later pit and fill. The yellow soil does not abut the cut to the E, W, and S, but rests against it to the N. We stop dep. 292 to allow the silty soil to the S (296) to be excavated. Nylon is deposited.
