Description: | The context shape in plan is sub-rectangular. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are vertical. The break at the base of the cut is sharp. The base of the cut is sloping.
Notes: | 293 is a subrectangular pit cut with sharp definitioin along the top and sides. The base of the cut is also sharp, sloping gradually to the S. When we were digging the fill, at the base of the cut, we seem to have found the eastern edge of a N-S robbing or foundation trench in line with a wall about 5m to the N. This trench edge was not present at the top of the pit cut. At this northeastern part of the pit cut, the material which it cuts is a harder clayish deposit which appears again in a larger area to the N. The clayey deposit should overlie the trench cut which our pit cut, 292, cuts. 293 end in soil at in the eastern half of the pit and boulder c. 15-20cm large in the western half.
