This basket records the portion of this irrigation trench excavated in the southern extension of the excavation area. Here in the southern extension, this cut was recognized much earlier than it had been in the north, when this cut was excavated and recorded as B18. Thus, the fill of this cut was excavated properly as B31 and the physical relationship of the irrigation trench cut and the plow zone was observed: the irrigation trench cuts the plow zone. Cut into very dark yellowish brown soft sandy silt with poorly sorted inclusions of small pebbles, cobbles, tile frags, and ceramic sherds. This irrigation hose trench (B32 = B18) disturbed the orange clay feature to the north. | |
