Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light reddish grey. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We open 356 to excavate a small pit. This is the third in a series of small pits cut into the same floor. The pits are line up on a E-W line, near the edge of cut 304, which is a robbing trench of E-W wall 305. Like the other two small pits, cut 357 (fill = 356) is shallow, and the fill contains nothing obviously remarkable. This small pit, like the other two, may have been a small garbage pit. Of the three, this is the largest.
The three pits that run along the line of wall 305, from west: cut 354 (fill 353); cut 357(fill 356); cut 352 (fill 350). Given the placement of these three pits, we thought that they might be postholes. However, the shallow depth of all three pits suggest that they are simply pits. There was no reall cutting for a post nor any wood splinters recovered from these pits.
13/6/2008: Little pottery, storm mixed with 350 and 348.
