Stratum:		Inclusions 30%: roots, ceramic (pottery and tile), bone, stones (cobbles, coarse pebbles, medium pebbles), black ash.
Description:		Top slope of the context is level. Bottom slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:		Basket changed to B41 when dark black ash began appearing, especially in NE quadrant. **Sample of black ash taken for wet sieve. More large stones in E. wall pit visible, projecting from it; they are boulder size. Basket changed when the black ash ended. A compact deposit in the E. 1/4 of the pit will be dug separately (B46) because of the difference in compaction and color. This hard ridge is why the slope degree at the bottom of B41 is uneven and why the edge is irregular. Contains a sherd that joins to sherd in B39 and sherd in B46 = these baskets deposited at the same time.
