Bottom slope of the context is moderate. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt. | | Notes: | | At about 11:00 on 04/25 Thanasis began digging this patch of softer soil to the east of the ash pit (B44). 2 linear gentle depressions in the soil mark the boundaries of this deposit. Thanasis will continue to dig this area between the linear depressions, and then we will decide whether this patch of soil extends anywhere else. There is general uncertainty now (shared by Thanasis, Guy, Alicia, and myself) as to which soil deposits visible in the SW 1/4 of the excavation area are still to be associated with the earlier plowzone excavated above.
