Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Context 498 is a cleaning context in the room defined by walls N: 365; S: 305; W 306; E:332. On the surface of this context approximately in the center of the room a concentration of rooftiles was exposed by the removal of context 387 and 389 in June of 2008. Our goal in executing this operation is to clean the area, remove any pottery that might contaminate the succeding contexts and investigate the extent of the tile deposit, as in the room adjacent to the W there is a clear destruction layer of collapsed roof tiles.
Investigation of these deposits revealed that the extent of the tile deposit is both deeper and larger than earlier expected and they remain partially obscured by a leveling fill deposit, perhaps associated with the construction of the clay floor 374. Having clarified these issues, it is decided to proceed with the excavation of this fill in a separate context.
