| Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. Bottom slope of the context is slight down to the SThe soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt. | |
| Notes: | A short operation to remove the fill covering the wall which runs across the N of Room E. It runs under and does not bond with the W wall of Room E. This wall cuts the drain running N-S through Room E. The pit excavated yesterday (B5004, B5005) cuts this wall. This section of wall does not appear to be of similar orthostate/rubble construction as the later N wall of Room E. Is this wall contemporary with the wall running under the E wall of Room E? On Travlos' plan of this area, which he drew in conjunction with earlier excavations, this wall appears to have been fully excavated, but our inspection of the wall and plan shows that his plan is not proper stone-by-stone. So this basket is previously unexcavated material. | |
