Stratum:   The soil contains a small percentage (10-15%) of small sized angular pebbles.
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the W. Bottom slope of the context is slight. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   B5092 was excavated seperately from B5089 because a change in the color of the soil was noted. In B5089 there were a lot of traces of burning, with scattered ashes, while the soil of B5092 does not share these characteristics. It is believed however that the tile fragment layer continues underneath B5092. After one pass the roof tile fragment layer is revealed. It continues towards Wall 21 (NB228) but stops at ca. 0.30 m. from the wall. It is worthy to note that at precisely the same length Wall 23 (NB 228) seems to have a later reconstruction phase, which is different from the rest of the wall to the W. A significant amount of coins were recovered both during excavation and while dry sieving.
