Stratum:   The soil contains a medium amount (30-40%) of small and medium sized subangular and subrounded pebbles.
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. Bottom slope of the context is level down to the The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   B5096 is the removal of the tile fragment layer revealed by B's 5086, 5089 and 5092. It contained ca. 30% of small and medium sized pebbles that probably collapsed together with the roof. The tile fragments spread throughout the entire room, located to the N of room F, E. In the E side of the room, after the removal of the tile fragment layer a floor was uncovered. Above the floor there are patches of burned soil. Excavation proceeded in an E to W direction. The amounts of roof tile fragments and pebbles remained constant all the way to wall 22 (NB 228). While excating towards the above said wall, a change in the soil was noted. Instead of revealing the floor, at a distance of ca. 0.75 from wall 22 (NB228) and ca. 0.45 from wall 23 (NB228) a cut was uncovered which contained medium sized stones mixed with roof tile fragments in a stacked pattern, as if they were dropped in a S to W direction. The soil mixed with them was softer compared to the floor and it also contained pottery shards that were sticking out vertically from the ground. It is possible that this is a bothros and therefore it will be dug seperately from the rest of the floor. A significant amount of coins was recovered. It is worthy to note that the roof tile fragments that came from the destruction layer were in their majority very small pieces and most were lying flat. It is therefore possible that the roof tiles found in the room N of room F, E, are actually a dump and not part of the collapse of the roof. The reasoning behind this is that if a roof collapses then you get large fragments of roof tiles mixed with the small, and they are not always lying flat. As excavation proceeded towards the W, the amounts of coins recovered diminished drastically. The total amount of roof tile fragments is: 2,836 fragments, 454.4 kgr.
