| Description: | Top slope of the context is level. Bottom slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt. | |
| Notes: | B5110 was revealed by B5107. After excavating it, it was noted that it was cutting into the floor revealed by B5096. Due to the extent of B5110 to the W and the immediate relation to wall 23 (NB228), it is possible that B5107 is associated with what appears to be a reconstruction phase of wall 23 in this area. More specifically, the part of wall 23 that is attached to wall 21 (NB228) has a different construction technique compared to the rest of wall 23. In it, among other building materials is a marble fragment, possibly part of a fountain. Upon excavating we came across a layer which contains ashes and a darker brown soil with a higher percentage of pebble inclusions in its matrix. It is also noted that this layer of ashes continues underneath wall 23 (NB228) in a S direction. It is therefore decided to stop B5110 at this point. | |
