Stratum:   B5144 contains ca. 5% small angular pebbles.
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the N. Bottom slope of the context is slight. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   B5144 is the removal of a reddish layer revealed by B5143 and B5114. As excavation proceeds to the N and W a cut is detected approximately above the continuation of wall 20 (NB228) to the S. This could be the remains of a robbing trench for the upper courses of the wall although it is not very clear. The basket is stopped at this point. The cut is subsequently dug as B5145
