Description:   The soil color is light greyish yellow. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   We excavated this layer to determine whethe this was another clay floor under 5172, to figure out the approximate period, and continue the questions asked earlier about relations of walls and whether this is an interior or exterior space. Another goal was to connect this with the northern clay floor 5186, somewhat higher in elevation.
Excavation revealed a clay layer with more inclusions than above or below, leading us to think of it as something of a destruction debris layer or a dump fill. It is also sandwiched between two other floor layers, possibly indicating repair and multiple layering of floors. Stones showed through in the S section (5192). We have been attempting to link these floors which cover most of our room with the unevenly joined sections in the north (5186). Later excavation revealed an E-W wall underneath the 2 sections which may account for the uneven nature of the connection and the height difference.
