Description:   Top slope of the context is steep down to the S. The soil color is light greenish grey. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silt.
Notes:   Context 523 is the excavation of a layer of ash that was exposed with the excavation of context 518. It is located in the room bounded by wall 313 to the east and 332 to the west. The layer is sloping down to the south. Because of the elusibe nature of context 523 it is unclear whether the context overlaid partially 522 and 521.
The excavation of 523 revealed a different more compact deposit, which still follows the same slope and has some flat lying tiles on its surface. We closed the context after the removal of the ash.
